Description | Suggestion: Instead of having the minimap be revealed in large-ish square-ish chunks based on player movement, have it be revealed based on what has been *lit*. This would solve the problem of areas one can clearly see in the main screen not being revealed on the minimap. It would also give significant purpose to the various kinds of light spell, by making them essentially shortcuts to scouting the map.
This change would also make basements and maze rooms much less aggravating, as, being (mostly) lit, you could usually see from the start where the doors and loot were, rather than wandering aimlessly for a long time. Of course, if you didn't like that side effect, you could only make the minimap react to player-generated light. |
