Summary0005391: Hardened Force Fields: Make them Different
DescriptionInstead of taking less damage from most units, and then much more from the handful that ignore armor, set them up totally differently.
Give them, say, 500 health per tier, and make every attack deal x damage, with x being the ship tier Starships would get 2x, golems and fortresses 10x.

So lets see how the stats work out, to get something semi-reasonable.

Some other ships will be quite effective against it. For example, an MLRS, fortress, or similar get a massive number of attacks. and hence will rapidly wear it down.
An MLRS gets 8 attacks every 12 seconds. It will takes 63 vollies, or 756 seconds, or ~ 12 minutes for a single MLRS to break through.
A full cap of 76 would take around 10 seconds, and hence is a rather heavy counter. (But, if you are going to be resistant to bombers, you should expect to be decimated by something else)

Minipods, another rapid attacker, attacks once a second, and has twice as large a cap.
A single minipod would take 500 seconds, but a full cap of 200 would take around 2 and a half seconds. Which is a bit scary, but expected.

Mixing with normal forcefields could be too powerful. You would need both types of units to kill it. Also would be too powerful supporting fortresses. Hence it might need to be weaker, or else have anti-synergy effects. (Force field convolution between the two types would, tend to deal quite a bit of damage if you hit the normal forcefield, since the other only needs to recieve 500-2000 conducted blasts to die.

*Note that if ship caps are adjusted so too does the numbers. Double ship caps needs to double shield health.
