Summary0005990: Something went bizarrely wrong with a battleground mission
DescriptionSo I guess I just managed to unlock a ton of new enemies, because I just got slaughtered by a battleground mission. It was full of clockwork probes and urban crawlers and it killed me quite badly; I must have lost four characters (including one seriously buffed) to it. The first (buffed) one took out three of the four towers, but once she died I really wasn't up to it. The new towers are a great addition too.

Anyway I'm not complaining about that --- that was awesome --- but just as my fourth character was dying suddenly the "Victory" notice popped up! From my minimap, it seems like some allies somehow managed to crawl across the map, take out the last tower, and then get to and eliminate the base without my noticing. Perhaps the enemies only gravitate to players so if an ally slips by it can mess their base up unopposed? Or something else went haywire. Anyway I quit with the victory message still onscreen so I could get the save file uploaded; this doesn't seem like the way those missions are supposed to play out and I think you might want to have a look.

Had you and your allies killed the last tower? If so, all is well. This is a team effort, you are not required to destroy he enemy base yourself.

I really don't know what happened; I hadn't got anywhere close to the last tower. I assume some allied skelebots had slipped through and dispatched it and the base. Anyway I don't know that this is a bug, but it seems like unintended functionality ---- to all appearances, I was losing this mission very badly,, and then suddenly I won. Considering how quickly allied skelebots die under fire, for them to have taken out a tower and a base alone I suspect something strange must have happened either with enemies ignoring them once they were past their lines or with resuming a mission upon death. Anyway, maybe not, but it seems like a weird outcome.

One possibility: I complained last week about losing missions while you were choosing a character, and this is now marked resolved but I still hear battle sounds while on the character select screen. Is there any chance you granted allies temporary invincibility during character selct and allowed the battle to continue?

This should do it:

* When all of the players in a chunk are dead, but their "bones" (the yellow flames) are still in the chunk, the chunk now pauses. This makes it so that, for instance, a battlefield mission doesn't continue on without you if you are playing solo (or if you are playing co-op and everyone dies at the same time). If you're playing co-op and some players are still alive, then things will continue to work like they always have.
