Summary0006568: Time Dilation power
DescriptionI've encountered in my play through that there are times I have to choose between missions because they both have only a few minutes left on the timer. My suggestion would be to add a power that would slow down the timer to maybe half speed. Potentially it could impact other things (such as in chunk time passage). I would think that it would be in effect game wide for a set number of minutes (30 maybe).

Do you mean that you're afraid that the mission would disappear as you're doing it? Is that the behavior? If so, I think once you start a mission, it should have no chance of disappearing.

He means he is afraid of Mission B disappearing whilst he is doing Mission A, or anything else for that matter.

Oh that makes sense.

Maybe entering the mission and exiting it should give another several hours for a mission? I mean the objective here isn't to rush the player AFAIK -- it's simply to provide variety so you're not stuck with the same mission, right? On the other hand, since you're going to get another mission generated, this isn't really much of a problem. If you really want the specific mission but don't want to do it right now, I think entering and exiting it should be enough to lengthen the mission time.

This would fall under the same vein as the sunrise and moonrise spells currently in the game, in that they don't really do anything outside of alter the strategic macrogame. That is, unless there were missions that could only be done at night, different monsters during the day, etc. I assume that in the future, when roaming monsters and the like are added back in, these sorts of spells will be a whole lot more useful and needed than they are right now.

Initially it would be just for slowing the mission timers, but I'm sure there could be other applications in which an altered time scale would be useful.

Maybe players could be allowed to 'Lock' one mission of their choice from the world map, making it last indefinitely until they've completed it? They'd also be able to take away a lock, if they changed their mind.

On the one hand, seeing multiple things you want and not being able to do them all is a bit annoying. On the other hand, I'd argue that having to make decisions about which would be "best" to go for is interesting (and the mission / reward will likely crop up again, so it's more a decision on which to delay getting).

As to sunrise / moonrise, there is a second use now - ensuring you have the right period to use spells with the only day / only night drawbacks.
