Summary0007189: Buildings should list what they enable
DescriptionThis goes somewhere in the spectrum of things you should discover vs things the game should tell you. If you think back to the Civ games, even Civ I showed you how the technology tree led from one thing to another and what enabled what. Why? Well, because you need to make choices, and you can't make them blindly. I think that applies even more in this game, because my instinct is always to strengthen myself with more spells, health and stuff, so to give me an incentive to upgrade my settlement, I really need to be told what can lead to what, but especially what enables what powers.

So rather than just having a blurb about each building in the continent status or guardian scroll choices, it would be really nice to know what it allows you to do. ie. which guardian powers, and if you click on the guardian powers, what they allow for.

It's ok to have some advanced functions of buildings be secret too, but the main ones should be listed.

Thing is, except for the 7 basic buildings, the answer is "nobody knows." All those personality buildings just enable specific NPCs of any profession to get to a higher skill level in their profession. So we could list all skill 4/5 abilities for the bulk of the buildings.

Then for the residential and storage tower we could list all skill 2+ abilities. For the six profession-specific buildings, we could list all skill 3+ abilities from that profession.

That's getting pretty broad, though, don't you think? I literally can't be more specific than that, though.

OK I see. Maybe that part of the building description should be highlighted (that it enables profession X to use Tier 3 powers) because right now it gets lost in the blurb (which most people won't read.) It would be nice if it could link to a filtered list of the guardian powers that are Tier 3 for that profession (as I suggested in the other Mantis I just posted). Post-1.0 though, so don't worry about it right now.
