Summary | 0007408: Building Suggestion: buildings to connect settlements/allow limited trade
Description | Currently, all buildings require an NPC with skills of 3 or less in order to be built, but NPCs can get up to skill 5 with personality buildings. Buildings that require NPCs of skill 4 or 5 in order to be built (and with significant resource cost) could be added that connect older settlements to newer ones with the idea of giving a limited ability to carry-over some of the resources/materials/NPCs between continents. Specifically ideas such as: 1) Building Q that allows player to teleport directly to other settlements with a similar building Q (kind of like warp gates between settlements). 2) Building W that allows player to exchange a small but useful number of different building materials with another settlement that also has a similar building W You would want a 1 for 1 trade in quantity, minimum in order to ensure that the player still has to collect resources on the new continent. Could make it a 2 for 1 trade, or worse, if you further wanted to discourage carryover. Could either make a permanent cap to the amount that can be brought to any one settlement, or a smaller cap that can be done repeatedly, but infrequently. 3) Building E that allows player to exchange a small but useful number of different spell crafting materials to another settlement with a similar building E; implemented similiarly as idea (2) above 4) Building R that allows player to exchange one NPC at the settlement with one NPC at a settlement with a similar building R: this building might want to require a lower skill level in order to be built; with the idea that if a new settlement is missing an NPC with a certain skillset (such as lumbermancer, aquaurgist, or apothekineticist); instead of having to find a specific mission to rescue that NPC, the player could find a mission that allows this building to be built and trade with an older continent for the skill instead. Again, you'd probably want a 1 for 1 trade, minimum.
