Summary0007780: Shards float to players
DescriptionIn many games, having to manually pick up everything can be a chore, so often they add features can attract money/gold/orbs to the character for a cost or as a feature that is default or unlockable.

I like getting shards, but often I can't be bothered gathering them all as it slows things down. If they floated to you extremely slowly, or home in on your character, just like life does but with a smaller range, it would be less of a chore.

Also, if they are able to float to you like life does, they will be able to fly through walls, making the current issue with them being stuck in the top-left corner less of a problem.

They are a prize for killing enemies, so it isn't like removing the manual gathering of them destroys the purpose like it would with enchants that are required to be found.

Perhaps even implement this as a spell that pulls mined minerals that you missed and dropped shards to you.

The way it is now seems to fit the design philosophy of having to go out of your way to get rewards, and of monster not inherently having a reward giftwrapped with them - it's the player's choice whether to pick up what they can, or take the time to trek down a cave to get the shards an esper dropped.

That said, an enchantment that pulls them towards you (at the cost of an enchant slot) sounds like a great idea, allowing the player to kit themselves out for a shard-gathering mission.

When I thought of them slowly going toward you, I did imagine an enchant that had different percentages of strength to the pull.

Kazmahu is right, this is intentional.

As for an enchant to do that, we want to avoid having the type of enchants that would make folks want to switch them back and forth often, which this would.
