Summary0007807: Issues in 'The Deep'
Descriptionthese bugs are just graphical errors that make the deep extremely hard to play in.
The possessed lion statue occasionally is drawn solid black and blends in with the background, meaning you can't see it till you get hit, also it's whip attack is also being drawn solid black, so sometimes you just take damage and have no idea what hit you or where it came from. I've noticed several other monsters being drawn solid black, and being invisible due to the background.

A trick to them is that if you use that one spell that lights everything for 10-50 seconds, everything becomes easy to see, but the evil statues stay pitch black while the safe ones lighten up.

I've always thought it was pitch black on purpose to be honest. Mostly because I've never seen any particular color there.

i believe the pitch black issue is intended, however i'm not sure if such is working the way the devs thought it would, after spending some time adventuring in the caves in the deep, i have some concerns. Enemies like bats (small creatures) effectively blend into the background along with most ranged attacks, which means a lot of the time you have no idea where anything is coming from. The cost to reward ratio if you will is seriously unbalanced and currently making it not worth going into.

If the idea was to show how everything is corrupted or something like that, perhaps putting a thin white line around enemies and/or spell effects so that they will at least be visible against the background. another option would be to make enemies/spell effects photo negative or something like that, say reverse of their normal color, it would look pretty weird i think.

Whatever happens, I think it should be looked at and perhaps tweaked somewhat, either that or increase rewards for going in there as it is exceedingly difficult to fight what you can't see.

Exceedingly difficult? That's an understatement. It seems that no matter what difficulty you are on, they do massive damage and have far too many hp due to being 2 tiers ahead of you. It's even worse when a friend comes to help. In fact that point makes it more worthwhile to venture solo than to team up on a boss or room out there.

Yeah, we're going to need to re-look at the Deeps.

Just a note on the damage I was noticing. Even at tier 5 (when we were tier 3) the fire bats did 155 damage on a sucessful hit, and about 30 burn damage a second.

This seems kinda excessive since in order to do the damage I need to kill one of them, I often can't get above 250 hp, so a lucky hit can take me out.

I forgot to note that I have 25% damage reduction as well.
