Description | Earlier today I went in to a Fix Anachronisms In Building mission and the map was completely littered in blade traps. Not wanting to deal with them I just abandoned the mission and started it again and got a nice map with no traps. I was going to report about blade traps needing to be limited but looks like someone already beat me to the punch today with that. But after thinking about it I realized it could be a feature. Rather than having the map generator determine if there will be traps when the mission areas are being constructed have the mission decide if it'll have traps like that ahead of time so if a player abandons the mission and tries again it will either always have the traps or it always won't. Traps and other map generation or rules tweaks could be used to make much more difficult versions of existing mission types. And to make it worth it these variations of the missions should yield better rewards. Challenge variations could be unlocked after progressing so far and completing enough of the regular kind. I know some of the missions already ramp up in difficulty already but this should be separate and not replace the old versions, rather just randomly have the super hard version seed instead of the normal one once unlocked. It would add some extra challenges for those players that really want it. | ||||
