Summary0008029: Fire is underpowered
DescriptionCurrently, as an element, Fire is very underpowered in comparison to everything else. It needs a boost somehow.

It's basic projectile, Fireball, is a joke. Poor damage, slow speed, and almost no AoE. Aside from Fire Shield, I almost never see Fire spells used in multiplayer and I never use them myself.

Couple this with the fact that a lot of enemies (Skelebots) are fire-resistant and you have a very undesirable element.

So...as I said, it needs a boost, pronto. Some ideas:

-More AoE. Have fireball literally explode when it hits.
-Damage Over Time. As far as I know, there aren't any player-used DoT spells, so this would give Fire a unique niche.
-Constant damage spells. As in "As long as you hold down the button (And have mana), your character keeps using a flamethrower-like spell" These spells also don't exist as far as I know.

Other ideas would be welcome too...just something to improve Fire and make it less of a joke.

Another idea that I forgot to add would be to have Fire spells able to damage background objects. You'd be able to fireball them instead of "meleeing" with Whips and Touch spells.

The "Flameout" spell says that it lights enemies on fire... I have actually never used the spell myself since it costs a whooping 700 mana.

Fire could also do with powerful-but-dangerous-to-oneself spells, since fire (at least to me) should be destructive but dangerous. These could include a charged shot (where you set yourself on fire and have the shot "cancelled" if it reaches the charging cap), a large AoE-on-impact where the AoE can also hurt you, and a "burst" of shots in all directions from the point you target (rather than from yourself), albeit with the shots being able to hurt you as well as others.

Yeah, I've yet to cast Flameout due to the mana cost. Even if it's AMAZING, the mana cost would instantly deplete your firepower and leave you unable to shield effectively for several seconds.

Anything that makes fire a REALLY big damage dealer would be ideal. And some spells that you could hurt yourself with wouldn't be too bad of an idea. It'd give high-hp characters a slight edge.
