Summary0008405: Clockwork Probe pushes Blade Trap
DescriptionI don't mind that monsters don't move through other monsters, but this is just a little on the absurd side.

In this lieutenant's tower, I was working my way up past and dying a lot (and leaving light orbs and platforms to help guide my safe passage for next glyphbearer (who would likely also die). This included drawing out the paths of nearby blade traps so I knew where to avoid, or to wait before passing. Then I realized some were in places they weren't before, as they weren't anywhere near their paths, and that some paths were empty of any Blade Traps, and I wondered where they all went.

Well I found a room with a few extra traps after a blank area, and a Clockwork Probe pushing them around as it tried to get a good shot on me. Then it came closer, pushing two Blade Traps to me, which in turn started slicing and dicing my hp to 0 in an instant. Now I have a few areas that are nearly impossible to get through, and only with a well-timed teleport between them all.

Again, I'm all for monsters colliding with each other, to make it realistic, but I really think that enemies should not be able to collide with the Blade Traps. I also think it would add to an appearance of deftly avoiding the traps, and moving around them, while also freely chasing you while not getting stuck on them.

Actually, blade and spike traps are supposed to be immune to monsters already; if someone has a savegame of them pushing these around, that would be great, because it's really not supposed to be happening!

i cleared out the tower already by posting, i'd need to find a new place with blade traps and monsters pushing, but i'll see if i can't find a place to show it off (also, are blade traps supposed to come in contact with each other, or pass through? cos i get them stuck on each other a lot)

Blade traps should hit each other, but not other monsters.

OKAY! I got a world save file of the clockwork probe catching them. I have screenies too. The screenies are of 3 blade traps it pushed together earlier. In them, I show it catching them, separating them, holding them, and I'm going to upload world file too, so you can see it catching them and moving them around.

On a related note, I notice that (moving) Mines from Indoor freefall missions can and do push spikes. Leaving landable spikeless platforms and (More devastatingly) spikes at the bottom of the mission, sometimes even on the cache!

Addendum: lots of things can push spikes and/or blade traps. Light snake is my favorite, because it is invincible. In a room with a lot of spikes on a floor, cast 10 or 20 light snakes and watch the spikes glitch out and fly across the room, possibly murdering you.

zcaliber, since you've mentioned that, i've tried more freefall missions, and have found that more than once. seems there IS more than probes pushing the spikes. i'd like to try the light snakes, too, khadgar.
