Summary0009422: Black Hole Ambusher
DescriptionStalking around in low power mode is the deadly Black Hole Ambusher... just waiting... and waiting.

Ship Type: Guardian, Cloaked, Cloaking Superbooster x30 (per Mark), Immune to missiles, sniper shots, minor electric, and other Guardian related immunities.

@MK1
Damage, 3000x20 Missiles every 6 seconds with low damage bonuses (1.8~2.4) to certain "raid" related hull types like Light, Neutron, Swarmer, Ultra-Light (Similar to an MRLS)

Around 2 million health per rank (double that of a normal guardian) and heavily armoured.

Script: Cloaked with a squadron of fleet ships in its care they activate when there is a significant human threat on the planet. They are meant to be a backdoor flank, activating and preventing retreat once turned on, acting much like a mobile Black Hole Machine. Once triggered they immediately go through the attacker's wormhole and decloaks, enabling the Ambusher's Portable Black Hole Machine, while leaving the previously cloaked squadron on the defenders side of the wormhole where the Human aggressor is.

The result of this is an attacking Human force not only will have a sudden group of ships in their retreat zone, but until destroyed the Ambusher on the other side is keeping the door closed to reinforcements you might be sending.

With high health and armour they can be a sudden surprise to an assaulting player who doesn't have scout intel on the planet and knows there might be one around, but are otherwise low powered and easy to take care of.

Best Case Scenario: Human sends their fleet ball through, non-group move. The Ambusher responds, and heads through the gate - preventing the slower Missile Frigates from getting through with the rest of the fleet (and being immune to them). The newly decloaked AI squadron attacks the human fleet while it's lacking its more valuable units. The human player retreats with losses, destroys the Ambusher and makes sure to scout this planet in the future in case another Ambusher is added during a Reinforcement wave.

Worst Case Scenario: A cloaked black hole machine that moves... not fun. Plus the human player could always watch scouts as they pass through systems to check if one of these exists on the planet.

During Waves: I don't remember if Guardians can be sent on AI Waves, but if they can this ship would seek out the nearest Wormhole and sit on the other side preventing 11th hour reinforcements...
