Summary0009468: AI Special Forces Patrols stealth exploit
DescriptionCheck out the attached save, system Dredd (the one with around 1900 units). Note that they WILL respond if I attack Parmentier. The special forces do seem to respond to all other stimuli as expected.

If I scrap my stealth battleships, the AI's special ops patrols resume normal behavior.

I can recreate this behavior by
1). removing all ships other than scouts from AI controlled behavior
2). sending raid starships to draw the patrol to Dredd
3). at the same time sending stealthed battleships in inactive
4). Scrap/retreat/suicide the raid starships once the patrol is in system
5). Attacking the isolated force field on the eastern side of the map with my stealth battleships. May not be necessary.
6). Let the AI ships settle back into their positions.

This does not seem to be a pressing issue, as the AI does respond to stimuli. However it does allow me to cheese the patrols by drawing the entire force out of position, and since they won't go through my systems.

In a situation such as this (stealthed, non-agressive), I suggest the AI compares firepower and frees a portion of its forces in this system (roughly 2/3s) for normal patrolling. Whether my firepower is 108(mk 1&2) or 36 (mk1) to their 338, I am able to draw the entire force out of position. Admittedly, this problem is only notable on unusual map types such as Cluster, it would be less cheesable and perhaps considerably more dangerous on a simple or realistic map type.
