Description | The Neinzul Predator Cluster, like other Neinzul structures, produces and contains a complement of Neinzul youngling units - in this case, Neinzul Predators. These are basically a youngling version of Etherjets, with a high movement speed and a single tractor beam (not decided on cloaking yet, that might be too powerful). Their behaviour is much the same - they bum-rush human units, tractor them, and drag them away. Specifically, they drag them back to the Predator Cluster, which eats them. As with Spire Maws and Starship Disassembler Guardians, the swallowed ships can be retreived if the Predator Cluster is killed before its prey is completely chewed up. Predator Clusters could be a type of AI homeworld only guard post, if they're considered particularly nasty, but I actually forsee them being balanced at about the same level as Neinzul Clusters and Neinzul Bomber Clusters. Perhaps a nastier surprise the first time you meet one, but actually easier to deal with if you can get hold of the right counter-unit (anything tractor immune or swallow immune, really). I'd also like to see the Neinzul Cluster Bomber AI type get more of these than usual, along with its usual complement of Neinzul Clusters and Bomber Clusters. Note, some logic might be necessary to stop these spawning under a shield. | ||||
