Summary0009705: Rebuilding command station remains at negative energy is broken.
DescriptionTaken from the 5.090 patch notes:

Command station remains can now be rebuilt even when energy is negative, to avoid the "you need power to get power" catch-22.

This is totally broken. When a remains rebuilder processes a Command Center remains at negative energy, it removes the remains from play but the Command Center to rebuild does not appear.

Effectively, the player selected the command station remains and pressed Del.

In the attached save, Shadow Frigates are about to destroy Diyun's command station, dropping you to -70,000 energy. If a remains rebuilder survives it will process the command station remains as described.

Replicated 4 times locally to make sure this was not a once-off error.

this only happens with the "advanced command centers". logistical and military have a energy cost and so they fail to rebuild in negative energy. i am guessing that the idea of any command station having negative power costs might need to be rethought. my thoughts is there power costs are actually insignificant ususally so should be eliminated to fix this issue. other idea is to make the remains have energy cost so that when rebuilt they are an exception to the prevent rebuild of energy costing unit. or just make them immune to the energy check ot sure how truly workable that would be tho.

yes as mentioned rebuilding command stations that arent econ doesnt work because the negative energy balances triggers the discard this remains trigger of rebuilding check for energy balance. this happens on only command station remains. for energy balance of turrets the turret just refuses to rebuild insteaad of scrapping the remains. so there is obviously a doule check for command centers that needs to be reexamined.
