Description | The Protector's job is to intercept projectiles. It's a modular starship that can equip various flare launcher modules that each intercept one projectile type, modules are available for practically any attack. Unlike anti-X turrets these modules cannot intercept infinite levels of fire, they are limited to a certain number of intercepts per second per module (going up with the ship's mark) and thus will need multiple modules of a type to deal with larger forces (larger waves can even overwhelm the ship if it is configured entirely to counter the wave ship). If using the projectile intercept logic isn't feasible maybe have it spawn flare units that act like decoy drones to their attack type, thus also responding to the DPS of the weapons it intercepts, not just their projectile counts. | ||||
