Description | The Reconstructor wanders through AI space and replaces down refurbished stuff. Generally refurbished items will never cause AIP increases. On AI planets it will replace lost guard posts until the number of GPs is equal to the number of resource spots, it will also replace lost wormhole guard posts (refurbished ones have low HP, they only increase reinforcements until the player gets around to cleaning the system again). On neutral planets it will also drop a refurbished command station (which act as a warp gate too), this claims the planet for the AI but since it's refurbished does not cost AIP to kill. The number of GPs it restores may be based on AIP and difficulty. It could replace lost uniques like ion cannons and such but I don't think the game tracks those and placing new ones is the job of the Zenith Trader. The Reconstructor should probably not be easy to eliminate, either it respawns when killed or is (nearly?) indestructible. Or maybe it just causes a hefty AIP penalty and stays dead. | ||||
