Summary0009926: AI Units to counter champions
DescriptionLoving all the Ancient Shadows stuff. Having just beaten a game with a friend, I thought that it would have been trickier if there were some anti-champion AI ships. As it was, there were plenty of things that made life miserable for the empire-control players that champions could easily take down to avert crises (like EMP Guardians), but not much in the way of things that hinder the champion that the empire-controller can step in and handle. Some thoughts I had:

++ Infector ships that, when they hit, cause champion-spawned units (the tiny bombers/fighters/blades) to spawn as enemy AI units

++ A ship that, if it kills the champion, would temporarily increase the respawn time by a couple minutes

Voting against it because infecting your drones is BS, the drones are already underutilized and against viral swarmers they're a liability already, they compete for your shield and heavy weapon slots and are difficult to keep focused on any target. Don't make them even worse!

Voting against this idea because champions get vaporized in larger battles during the later stages of the game whereas a fleet does far better, there are no need to create specefic counters unlessed the champion got a significant buff.
