Description | The nebula scenario for the Ravenous Shadow is just not fun, 1v1 battles like that only work when there's something the player can do to influence them, as it is the RS scenario consists of giving an attack order on the RS and hoping it dies fast enough. That the RS is faster than everything else just amplifies the feeling of having no control over things, your only option is to sit back and hope the RS is stupid enough to stay relatively still. People have reported interaction in the form of exploiting some behavior issue that makes the RS sit still when a projected FF is deployed but that does not seem intentional. The closest thing I've seen to such a duel-with-a-large-monster battle in an RTS are the boss fights in Dawn of War 2 which are heavily pattern based with target markers warning about extremely powerful attacks and such.
The same issue applied to the colony ships mission last time I tried it but I think that was before the CS got a nerf. I don't believe the nerf made that mission more interactive than "kill faster than your allies die" but you have to ask others about that. |
