Summary0013421: Can't end orbital mission without withdrawal
DescriptionOne of the orbital bombers survived and the entire enemy fleet has been wiped out.

I assumed the mission would end with no hostiles but it appears that I would either have to destroy the bomber or withdraw from the mission to end it.

This SHOULD work in .816 or after. If you see it again then, please let me know! Thanks.

I just had this in .820: only bombers remained and then I withdraw. Still is counted as a "act of cowardice".

I personally find difficult to understand what this mission is about: just protecting bombers? Enemy ships do not seem to attack them (at mission start bombers are far away and they move very slowly) so the only think to do while waiting is destroy every enemy ship

savegame attached: I killed everything except that single satellite.

Still occurring in 0.851 - plus there's no feedback that the bombers are doing anything. Ideally, every second turn (staggered between bombers, not all at once?) they should fire a projectile that shrinks to nothing as it moves towards wherever the planet graphic is, then makes a little explosion overlay on the surface for a second or so.

That's rather a separate issue but it seems relevant :)

I also bombed a planet to nothing, and the mission still wouldn't end. Afterwards the race had 0 population but kept building armadas. They didn't seem to grow again, so another race invaded them with trivial ease later.

* The "assist orbital bombardment" mission type has been removed, as it was all kinds of broken and also niche enough not to be worth fixing.
