Summary0007614: Demolishing wind shelters
DescriptionNow that drops have been increased the deeper inside stormy areas we go, I find myself with too many wind shelters and not enough fun.

Since stormy areas can be both negative and positive, I think there should be a way to demolish your wind shelters if you change your mind and want more storm on your continent.

This sounds kind of.. out of character for the glyph-bearer. After all, the wind is one of the main forces in the game you are supposed to be fighting. It would be like letting players resurrect the evil overlords just so they can fight them again.

Anyway if you want more challenging enemies/better loot, you could always delve deeper into caves. Another, more extreme method, would be to journey to a brand new continent.

I strongly support this, but for a different reason: If you're playing on a multiplayer server, and someone places shelters in such a way that all ports will be stuck in storms forever...what then?

I've never experienced or tried it personally, but in theory that would be a progress block, keeping everyone on the latest continent.

Hmm. You have a point. It's really unlikely but sounds like it would be possible. Maybe if the game let you build wind shelters in the ocean or something...

I think wind shelters should just uncover a much smaller portion of land.

I'm neutral about this. What GauHelldragon said at the first note makes sense and I agree with him, but if I misplace a wind shelter and make next wind shelter missions in more difficult time shards like The Deep unavoidable, I would want to demolish them.

Maybe instead of removing a wind shelter, there could be a minor shelter that only removes a single square of wind or so, but with relaxed conditions for its placement. That would help get around issues of previous wind shelters blocking progress.

I'm thematically cool with glyph bearers removing wind shelters. Sometimes when you're in a position of power you have to make tough decisions to one or many people's short term detriment, for the greater good of the whole.

Whether it can be handled better through other gameplay mechanics is a different matter, however.
