Summary | 0010218: Bat behavior makes them difficult to hit with linear projectiles.
Description | Preemptive .708 bug, based on attempting to play .707 without diagonal aiming. Bats have too much freedom of movement. Their "preferred height" is a handful of pixels above the player's line of fire, but too close to the ground to fire up at them. Options: * Bats should align themselves such that it's possible to fire projectiles at them while standing. * Bats should align themselves such that it's possible to fire projectiles from underneath them or by jumping. * Bats should attempt to maintain a set distance from the player, then make quick "swooping" attacks at the player. (This is particularly nice if paired w/ vertical/jump aiming).

The same issue applies when they are traveling down towards the player from above. They are always a couple of pixels off a vertical shot. It makes them quite fiddly to deal with. |

The only real problem I have had with bats (hero difficulty) is that if I don't have at least two ivory towers in my possession, seeing them in very dark areas with a mage class that does not produce its own light via spells can be very difficult. And so, I generally just spam spells into the darkness until I get out of that place. |
