Summary | 0010297: Ability to set TextTop instead of TextBot on NPCs
Description | When you talk to Willis at the end of Stantonsburg, he refers to Shadow Man, saying "look over there -- do you see it?" (paraphrased) The problem is, you *can't* see it very well because the text box is in the way! Can you think of a way to let us control whether the text box appears at the top or the bottom of the screen when an NPC is spoken to? Maybe placing a "secret tag" on top of them could switch their text placement? (Hey, it works for letting adjacent doors be unlocked!)

You know, I thought about this for months. There is actually a simple solution you can already do: control the position of the NPC so that he, and by extension the character, is on the portion of the screen you don't want obscured. That automatically adjusts it showing the top or the bottom. Basically, you can control where the character is, and thus by extension control where the text message shows, by controlling where the NPC is. I think anything else is getting really complex. |
