Summary0010775: [AS] First Shattered Pillar mission is too long
Description(only tested in 1p normal+champion)

If I get the Shattered Pillar mission before I get the Spire shadow frigate, it takes hours to complete.

I normally use full lasers and shields (mk2) to prevent buildup of heavy-type ships.

Generally, all of the enemy small starbases fall inside of half an hour, with me losing 0-1 small starbase.

Then, I have to wait for an hour or two while battle shifts back and forth, and I lose all but one of the small starbases on my side as my allies slowly trickle ships at the large starbases in straight lines -- no spreading or strafing to reduce the impact of the dark spire base, and no blobbing to better endure the neinzul base's attacks.

This is very unpleasant for me, and I have no idea how to avoid it.

The fact that I'm flying the slowest ship in the nebula (besides my drones), and thus am unable to support the attack waves (because by the time I see them, it's too late to get to them before they get blown up) just makes it worse.

Could something be done about this?

Have you tried to use your shadow charge shield to cover the ultra heavy bonus ally ships when they get into range of the large starbase? That might help you speed up the battle a bit.

I feel your pain though. If you get unlucky with the order you get to play them, and/or your unlocks don't give you anything that gets a bigger dps against ultra heavy than the missile module. Playing those nebula scenarios can be pretty frustrating and long if you are by yourself and those things happen.

The big problem is once the enemies lose enough of their starbases they stop sending spawns at each other, so it's basically a 1v2 from there.

Spawns seem to go for the enemy with units closest to them; is this the case?
