Summary0011080: Fallen Spire AI Type
DescriptionYou know how that fallen spire ships are classified as super-weapon? Well why not put in stuff that AI can use to directly counter-attack those or have fallen spire city hubs that are held captive.

Some ideas:
You know how AI is facing two battle front as described in Fallen Spire Campaign? Why not bring out some stuff AI uses to fight the main fallen spire fleet?
Lets AI actually spawn a device that directly weaken the fallen spire military ships in system.

In reply to a PM:
My problem with this is that in Fallen Spire, the AI has so much firepower that the only way I can make headway at all is with the Spire fleet.

I already have trouble when the AI rolls out 200 or so Zenith Bombards in a system, because those things are basically a perfect anti-Spire ship:
* They have far longer range than your ships
* They autokite almost everything
* They're almost as fast as you
* You can't snipe them

Let me be clear there are two set of ideas.

An unique "fallen spire" AI type that uses lot more of whatever they are equip to fight fallen spire main fleet in the other galaxy. We already have spireling for starship and AI doesn't use many other stuff that you would see otherwise that can stand up to a full fallen spire fleet without serious high level threat.

Well a weaken fallen spire can still fight and you may want to do combine arm or do a raid run against Fallen Spire AI type with raid starship. Nothing that has not been already done before against fleet ship or starships. (gravity driller (the object not AI type), eye bot, parasite eye, ion eye, and forts to name a few examples)

Now for the second idea. They can spawn on planet with "Vanilla" AI type as new stuff from Fallen Spire AI type but those "Vanilla" AI type don't have as many if they were Fallen Spire AI.

If you have serious problem with zenith bombard then you can outfit your Fallen Spire with full railgun modules and then watch them dying. I don't believe zenith bombard have immune to radar dampen so you can use raid starship to snipe a few assuming threat is low enough.

Edit: I forget to mention. I play very often with fallen spire on. I like to challenge myself sometime to try to clear out a solar systems without fallen spire fleet. So right now you don't have many reason other than high threat + golem + blackhole machines to hold back your fallen spire fleet.

The FS railguns are sniper weapons. Zenith Bombards are immune to sniper weapons.

My best answer to them is Spire Blade Spawners.

Here are some ideas I had:
* "Spire Factories" provide +1 cap of Spire Frigates. Four add up to a shipyard. (The AI would normally keep the Frigate on the Factory system, and the heavier ships either on its homeworld or in Special Forces)
* "Spire Harvesters" provide a large boost to resource income under your control, and cause larger reinforcement and wave spawns on their system and adjacent systems while the AI controls them.
* An AI that has Spire Archives on some of its non-core Mk4 systems
* An AI that favors Spire guardposts and guardians
* An extra-red (purple?) AI that combines all of the above, and Spireling, and Spire Hammer, and Crafty Spire, and has automatic Spire Civilian Leaders

Ahhh I completely forget about zenith bombard with snipe immune.

Personally what I would do is to gather up all fallen spire fleet in one spot on the other side of wormhole along with two cloaker starships (Assuming no bonus ship with tachyon or tachyon guardian etc...). Turn all of the fallen spire off yes off. Then move them and turn them all at once when you are in a good spot to catch them all at once.

To be honest I never had an AI spam zenith bombard in enough number to actually notice the whole "snipe immune" myself. I usually outfit all of my capital with two railgun each to burn down guard posts since those railguns are immune to radar dampening.

What kind of Spire archives are you thinking of? The hacking one that gives you 6k knowledge or is the spire archive more like zenith cache?

The knowledge kind. The one that gives 80 AIP when killed.
