Summary0011684: Show number of resource-producing buildings on different places
DescriptionSomeone (me) might not notice when every building of a type is destroyed.

Currently the only way to track building-counts is on the upper screen in a not clearly arranged tool-tip.

Adding this information to the resource-tracker would instantly fix this issue.

My suggestions are one or more of these:

1) Display the number of resource-producing buildings next to the resource-count on the resource-tracker.
2) Display the number of resource-producing buildings on the resource-tracker tool-tips
3) Dye the resource-count on the resource-tracker in red when there are no buildings left to produce this resource.
4) Display the number of resource-producing buildings next to the building-build button.

1) and 2) would display the building-counts in a plain resource related fashion.

I prefer these: 2), 3) and 4).

"Resource Drops" should be treated similarly.

My opinion is that "1)" should be added as a minimum. "2)" is nice, and would be useful for those building resources of which do not get to be displayed in the resource tracker. "3)" nice but optional, depending on if it *looks* nice. "4)" I personally think that this is a bit of an overkill (given the above). But I understand that others might like it.

I love "1" especially. Maybe showing the rate of gain would also help, so one doesn't have to fish through tooltips to find that out.

I don't find the "spent" statistic to be very useful currently because what I really want to know is the average rate of change based on the military buildings I have available. Even a very naive calculation based on the maximum rate the military buildings will spend resources with the current available special buildings would be incredibly helpful and reduce the time spent poking around towns and the resource bar a lot.

If "4)" isn't in, "1)" should defenitly be! The one thing about "1)" i don't like is that not all finished goods are on the resource-tracker (only the ones that are important for creator realted stuff). Otherwise it would be my first choice, too! All them together would be nice, but world is not a winter-wonder-land ;)

Maybe "3)" would be useful for beginners.

Thanks!

* The tooltips for the resources on the sidebar now show the count of buildings for that faction that are involved in the production chain of that resource (just one building for raw resources, several for finished goods). Sunstone does not include moonstone production, as it's a raw resource.

Thanks!

* In the left sidebar, when you are placing buildings, it now shows a count of how many of those buildings that faction already has on the map.
** As an added bonus, when placing lands it also shows how many lands of each type are on the map.
** Also also, this now shows the counts of directly-placeable units and tokens that are currently out on the map for that faction.

This now hits 2) and 4) from the list above.

I think that, reading your comments and thinking about this, and looking at how this has already affected the interface, this is plenty -- dying the sidebar red when there are no producers would likely be confusing to new players, and putting a count of producers in the sidebar on the right would really not fit space-wise (and is now redundant since you can see that on the left, and on the tooltips on the right).
