Description | I mentioned this on the forums, and thought I might as well add it here. Basically, anti-hull turrets would be like Ion Cannons, except they don't insta-kill ships based on mark, but their hull type. There could be an anti-hull cannon for most major hull types, and maybe a few that can counter two or three less common hull types. The anti-hull turrets would be available to AI only. The purpose of these would be to force the player to exclude some ships from offense on some planets, possibly helping to avoid using the same so-called "killer combos" on every planet. They'd make sure that sometimes you can't keep certain ship types with your fleet on some planets, and need to ninja the anti-hull turrets first with anything else you have. These cannons wouldn't be everywhere, and there would rarely be many on one planet, but they could still be common enough to cause the player to change the combination of ships they use every once in a while. Graphically, they could follow the same route as Ion Cannons. Same or similar icon and sprite for all variations, just a different hull specialty for each. Could even come with an AI type that likes to use these a lot. ;) | ||||
