Summary | 0011860: Control Group Tweaks
Description | Although some of it may be already possible, I would like to be able to do the following things (which I can't figure out) -Deselect a control group, while retaining the rest of my selection >I have a full control group of all combat ships, and a few subgroups of, say, raid ships, heavy ships (for Eyes/ ion cannons) and similar. Hence, would like hotkey combo to select full group, then deselect all the heavy ships, so I can place the fleet seperately. Or any combination. However, it requires 6 control groups instead of three using my current knowlege of the implementation of control groups. -Remove unit selection from control group > So I don't have to, when I want to remove a unit from a control group, either kill said unit (like, say, advanced factory), or else clear the group, then find every single example of said group from the whole galaxy.... Which takes forever. -Allow L split, and possibly other things in galaxy view. This being so that I can quickly and easily split my fleet up between planets, without toggling between the views for each click. (May be possible by changing galaxy L hotkey, unsure) -Some kind of Control Group Manip in Galaxy view.... I might need to put this in a separate suggestion, since it is a bit more ambitious.
Remove unit selection from control group > So I don't have to, when I want to remove a unit from a control group, either kill said unit (like, say, advanced factory), or else clear the group, then find every single example of said group from the whole galaxy.... Which takes forever.
IIRC CTRL+ALT+GROUP# should remove selected unit from the group (ie: CTRL+ALT+1 remove selected units from group1). By the way, a CTRL+X+GROUP# hotkeys exists, that make selected unit to be in the selected group only (ie: unit is in group 1 and in group 2 - CTRL+X+1 -> ship is now in group 1 only - X stands for eXclusive) for problem 1 - not sure to have understood correctly - maybe ALT+group# will do the trick, but not sure - alternatively using units in multiple groups (ie: group 1 for 'all fleet', group 2 for 'all starship', group 3 = group 1+2, etc...)? |

Ok, so you can remove your selection from a group, and also make a selection be part of a single group, removing it from all other groups. That may be sufficient. Thanks. |
