Summary0012407: Buffs too easy to stack across component bays
DescriptionThere doesn't seem to be a lot of relationship between the bay a component goes in and the types of buffs it has. If I want a lot of regen, I can get it across Reactor, Propulsion, Shields and Computer. Same with hacking, sensor range, area of effect or whatnot.

Tying the buff type more closely to the bay type would make customization more interesting, because there would be more constraints to work with. It would also keep the envelope of an exo capability within a more defined range, which I assume makes the game easier to balance overall.

To compare to most text roguelikes -- I can't put a leather armor on my head, and they're both defense related slots.

The problem is secondary effects, and making so that there are actually a lot of unique parts. That said, I see your point. I'll raise this issue with Keith and see what he thinks. We may have been emphasizing uniqueness of parts more than we should, where we should have been emphasizing uniqueness of system a bit more. This deserves some thought, anyway.

Based on the secondary effects now being much rarer, you should see a reduction in this. You really had a very good point here. If it still seems an issue in newer savegames then please let us know, but I think it's okay now. Some crossover is fine and necessary, but it won't be so extreme now.
