Summary0012410: Power needs rebalancing -- never run out
DescriptionI've never come remotely close to running out. Few reasons I think:
1) Just too much power available to start
2) Many buffs that improve power, or reduce power usage
3) Equipment for many bay types has ability to improve power usage, so more slots that can help with power.
4) Quantity of buffs on equipment means I likely get enough tag-alongs to solve my power problem

Net effect to me is I don't have any real constraint placed on me by power utilization. Maybe this changes over time (I'm still early in the game)

Trust me, it becomes much, much more important late game.

(Actually, the fact that power requirements go up much faster than module effects may want looking at in itself)

The nature of parts and their buffs has changed pretty drastically in 0.909, so I'll be curious if you still find this an issue in that version. If so, we can definitely work on the balance here, but I suspect it's already changed pretty heavily in the next version.
