Summary | 0012808: SilenceBot can redirect damage to enemies that would be dead this turn
Description | In the attached save file, firing the rocket to the easternmost possible square will catch all five enemies in the explosion. However a SilenceBot survives, probably due to redirecting damage to another enemy within the blast radius. I'm not sure if this is intended behavior or not. But I think that it makes more sense for SilenceBots not to be able to redirect damage to units that are fatally damaged by the same area-of-effect attack. One way to make this happen would be to apply all damage to non-SilenceBot units, remove the units that die, then apply (potentially redirected) damage to SilenceBot units.

Yea, I'm gonna have to call this one working-as-designed as a purely order-of-operations thing. In other words, hitting a silence bot and other targets in a single aoe may or may not kill the silence bot, and the player should account for that uncertainty (or will learn to, at least). The other side is that it'd be more than a bit of a pain to split up the processing as would be necessary to make it consistent either way (always saving the silence bot, or always not). |
