Nope, that's how that is spelled! Actually those are two different words, and almost everybody uses the wrong one. The full word that perq is short for is perquisite. :) |

Etmyology online says we've been spelling the shortening as perk since 1869... I expected it to read perk too, though I did work out from context that perq was short for perquisite. |
