Summary | 0014254: Ships spawning from nothing
Description | Happening during an outpost defense mission. Defending one of mine, originally an Acutian outpost, fight starts normally, with me against the Evucks, though the Acutians are also listed as participants despite lack of flagships. Right when things get moving, Acutian ships just start appearing out of a blank spot on the battlefield, and continue doing this as the battle goes on. I've tried reloading and restarting the mission so it generates a new starting setup, but it still does this every time.

may it be intended based on this? The maximum number of armadas that can be involved in a "hold off overwhelming attack," "help invader armadas with attack," and so on has been raised from 4 to 20. This creates an enormous backlog queue of flagships that don't initially appear in the battle (via mechanisms already in place) which is fine, it won't eat your CPU because of that. It will create an insanely long battle if you are actually able to deal with all those enemies, but that is unlikely since you'll be running out of ammo on special abilities, gradually having your health whittled away, etc. You'll eventually have to withdraw if the enemy forces are just too strong, but what you _won't_ have to do is repeatedly try attacking _and winning_, which can be frustrating. |

Yep. Either that, or it's the "send a few squadrons to people we can help" logic. Allies will sometimes send some squadrons that warp into battles, but without flagships. Those come out of the planetary emergency reserves of the allies. |

If I might suggest one thing based on this, put some sort of thing on the map that they actually spawn from. If it's meant to be a "warp in" sort of thing, put like, I dunno, a spiraling portal in the spot that they're coming from, with a tooltip that explains what it is. Otherwise, it does seriously look like a glitch. I can agree with this mechanic overall though. It occurs to me that I should make a seperate ticket for this suggestion, so I'm gonna do so. |
