Summary | 0014398: Put some aliens on those static backgrounds
Description | Whether it's a planet background showing friendly acts or hostile ones, seeing an image of a representative from that race makes dealing with them more personal. It covers the AI number crunching with the illusion of a living intelligence. You might even put on that screen an indication of how that race currently views you, and why--not as numbers, but as text.

Better yet, make it not text either, but a facial (or equivalent) expression... Going to do a deal with an Angry LOOKING Burlust would definetly make things more "real"... ;) (The number should still be avilable somewhere, at lesast as an option, for convenience, but that's just one of my pet peeves :) |

I could really go for that. Something along the lines of what Stardock did, perhaps, with GC II. I realize this isn't a gameplay issue in the sense of new features, or balance, AI behavior. But it is gameplay, in that it feeds directly into the imagination of (at least some) players. |
