Summary | 0014556: Friendly Act :Interplanetary Slave Trade
Description | Interplanetary Slave Trade Computer Report: Help organize and establish an interplanetary slave trade in the solar system, with this planet as its main trading hub. After organization, assist in patrolling slave trade routes and the gathering of criminal scum, social vermin, and indentured servants from the solar system that for one reason or another are not good enough to have their freedom. The more planets participating in the slave trade, the greater the profits and stability of the slave trade. Be warned that this could be seen as a bane or a boon in the solar system depending on the Race, but provide quite an economic boost for this planet. +Economy -??? Influence if Good Races +??? Influence with Evil Races

I like the idea in general, but between the significant differences in planetary compatibility, most planets wouldn't really be able to support a cost effective trade (unless you ant to consider less ideal condiions for the natives could possibly mean more ideal environment for the slaves - this poses a ton of problems though, as the slaves could literally walk out the nearest airlock and leave the door open - if domes are assumed - and wouldn't even need to perform any kind of uprising, or would rapidly pass the native population if limitted habbitable terrain is assumed. In the end, I can see the pirates doing it (since they don't have a planet, and are likely trading in slaves of the asme population or to ship captains/etc.), which they do already do, but between the pirates griefing them for competition, the logistical issues housing unwilling aliens, and the risk of uprising, I can't imagine it being much of an economic boon... Add to that, thoraxians apparently can't become slaves (Black Market won't even buy them), Burlust are as likely to kill said slaves in displays of prowess faster than supply could possibly produce :), and Andor are likely to immediately start attacking the slave planet... So there could certainly be some conditions that would make it feasable, but I'd imagine they are fairly limitted. So in the end, I'm on the fence - as it doesn't detract from anything I certainly have no objection, on the flip side there are a ton of things I'd like to see first. :) |

Oh - you know what? "Slave Market" might make a good relations building though! |
