Summary | 0015081: Lone surviving Boarine fleet captures planet and immediately surrenders it
Description | I'm not sure whether this is intended behavior or a bug. However, I noticed the following situation in an observer game with focus on "[How] Does the AI do diplomacy?": -There is two wars early in the game, Evuck vs Boarine and Acutian vs Burlust. -The Skylaxians immediately start an attack of opportunity on the Boarine. After a while, the Boarine lose their homeworld and only planet (in savegame: 22m 14s ago) -Suddenly, a short time later, the Boarine capture the Burlust homeworld (?! 15m 56s ago) and 9 seconds later lose it to the Acutians. I can't find a notification that the Boarine declared war on the Burlust, nor that the Acutians decided to attack the Boarine. I can't find a reason why there would be Boarine fleets at the Burlust homeworld. Also: Apparently "Lost a planet" (= "Went down fighting"; "Surrenders"; ...) is a notification of the ATTACKERS race instead of the defenders race? This is probably unintended. E.g. the Boarines surrendering their world (25m 50s ago) is a Skylaxian message - additional to the Skylaxian "We captured a planet"

For 1.017: * Fixed a bug where planet surrender/lost logging messages were being logged under the race color of the attacker (though it was saying the right race did the capturing and losing, etc). * Now when a race loses its last planet all its fleets (other than pirates, assassins, and AFA) are immediately removed from the game. Previously they would stick around and lash out but since so much logic in the game excludes "dead" races (ones with no planets) that wasn't working well at all and led to strange bugs. Thanks :) |
