Description | I'm considering this one a major issue because, at least on the difficulty I'm playing on, it actually has the effect of making any ship that starts with it completely non-viable. Choosing a ship that begins with this weapon is suicide. The Evuck ship for instance, starts with this one. I gave it a go. Even with the spreadshot utterly maxed out with fully allocated weapon power, it cannot kill even a single interceptor.... and the Evucks have literally no other options for dealing with smaller ships. The Mass Driver and Energy Blaster are good against Flagships, and maybe Claymores, but they are worthless against any small ship. But at least they can destroy SOMETHING.... the spreadshot cannot destroy anything at all. Theoretically I can still win the initial battles even with this ship.... but it could seriously take a couple of hours just to do this, because I can have no effect at all on all small ships. For now, I'm stuck only starting with races that have the minigun. I'm all for challenge and whatnot, but there's a difference between difficulty by design, and difficulty that exists only because something is broken. And in all honesty, I dont think this weapon needed as much of a nerf as it originally appeared to. Instead, it makes more sense to me to simply make other weapons a bit more appealing in some way. | ||||

Think spread shot should change it's shooting pattern to a really fan shape spread that proving no one (small ships only)in that 180 arc angle could surrive in 1-2 turns(normal mode) |

I have found the same, minigun is the only weapon capable of dealing with small craft. (though I find the Thoraxian passive grav lance to be an amusing fly swatter as well :). |

Thanks! * Spreadshot changes and fixes: ** Fixed an issue where multi-shot salvos from things like the spreadshot could actually split their shots between multiple targets (whoops), thus causing really odd patterns of shots. ** Spreadshots now have a much tighter fan into which they fire, making them much more likely to hit huge amounts of stuff in a cloud of ships. ** The spreadshot (player) and scattershot (AI) weapons are now considered "Flak" weapon types, not Ballistic. Flak is a new weapon type. The wall turret and Model T wall weapons also now use this type. ** Armored Hulls now also have 85% resistance to Flak DMG, same as Ballistic. ** The following ships now have "flak vulnerability," which makes them take 200% damage from flak shots: ** Interceptors of all sorts, Hypersonic Pods, Monitors of all sorts, Predators, Pirate Snipers, spy probes, and velociter flagships. Additionally, the velociter flagships no longer have armored hulls. |

(v1.021) Spreadshot is still too useless, sorry. It's not so much a matter of damage as it is just hitting, the low RoF and range make it too easy for small ships to largly dodge. I've taken to using Anti-swarm lasers or just ignoring small craft all together in 1.021. |

Spread shot should combine with "shoot"toward direction,so small ships wont dodge and have its maximum performance |

Also current spread shot best way to use it is when escaping from small ships,shooting backwards |
