Summary0015223: Too many flagships in opening mission
DescriptionI dunno if this is the case on lower difficulties, but with the last version or so, the number of flagships that appear in the opening mission of the game rose really dramatically for no apparent reason.

Originally it was like 3 or 4, now it's been 18 every single time, which... yeah, that's way too many. On Misery it could take hours.

I also experienced this; however, I get the feeling Arcen don't *really* mind if the hardest difficulty setting is actually impossible. For AI War, they described the game being beatable on the hardest difficulty as a bug.

However, this battle isn't impossible so much as really, really long. Also, you are supposed to be running away, but you can't actually retreat at all! So at least the player should be able to retreat after a certain number of turns.

It's not the difficulty that bugs me.... typically I dont lose battles when playing on Misery unless I do something REALLY stupid. The game would have to be alot more difficult than that to change that fact. The challenge level of the actual battles is pretty much where I think it should be for this mode though.

No, it's the LENGTH that gets me. They just take too long... and that's not difficult, it's merely boring, and I seriously doubt that the devs want that to be the case on any game/mode.

That it's this way on this particular battle may actually be a glitch, but for other battles, there needs to be changes made to stop this. A 20 minute difficult and exciting battle is pretty great, but a 3 hour one that ends up just being tedious is not.

* Fixed up some code that was leading to excessive numbers of flagships in various combat situations on high difficulties (Misery in particular).

And agreed about the length.
