Summary | 0015491: Champion Bay Scrapability
Description | My Champion's bomber bay was pumping out bombers, and there was an nuke eye on the planet. eventually, it started ticking down. Then I realized I couldn't scrap the spawned bombers. This is something of a problem. I can't think of any reason to forbid it.

Somewhat unusual, but I think you can scrap the ~bomber bay itself~ if you zoom in on the champion. Depending on how much time you have, that might get you out of a tight spot. But yeah, drones should probably be scrappable. |
There should just be a single button to disable drone spawning. Scrapping the bay is very impractical if you're 40 hops away from home and can't rebuild it. |
40 Hops from home isn't a big deal so long as you can get an engineer. Generally the closest planet can handle it. I scrapped the bay, then when that wasn't enough, scraped the champion. Got it down low enough that all the bombers died off before the counter dropped below 10. |
40 hops from home CAN be a big deal if there are a ton of MKIV worlds (including one homeworld and a few worlds with tens of thousands of thread collected onto them) on the way to prevent you from ever getting your champion back out there (and with teleporting off, you won't ever get an engineer through that). It's not a common scenario, but when you find yourself in it, clearing out dangerous stuff (such as eyes and anything that grants reinforcements) from as many planets as possible is very important. More importantly: That sort of super-tedious micromanagement (individually scrapping drones) should not be necessary. And neither should sacrificing your modules (or entire champion). |
Yes, well, until Eyes look at threat count rather than ship count this will be a problem. |
You can power down your champion to stop drone production. The drones probably have a metal cost so that they can trigger reprisal waves, and are not scrappable so you can't harvest them for resources. |
