| Description | Last night I started a new campaign on 7.053. I spent 10 minutes detangling the map in my personal layout, and then played for six hours. (Annoying that the map can't be adjusted in the lobby and the detangled version shared by all players, but that's another problem.) Today I loaded the game and couldn't switch to my personal view using the layout menu. I thought it had forgotten it. I did change my steam profile name (but not account name) before that and thought "Maybe the layout is somehow associated with my profile name" but changing the name back didn't help. The campaign is almost unplayable without my personal layout, but I tried playing anyway. Then I realized that context menus in general weren't working. Alt-right-click on the galaxy view shows the context menu with "Give Resources" and "Galaxy Layout", but clicking them does nothing. It makes a click sound, but the menu stays open and nothing happens. (Clicking "Galaxy Layout" doesn't go to the layout menu, for instance.) Clicking "Back" does close the menu, though. Similarly, attempting to "line place" mines doesn't work. Clicking "Line Place" doesn't switch to the line place menu. Telling a scout to auto-explore or a ship to stop moving with the alt-right-click context menu results in the menu closing but the command is not obeyed. The scout does not explore and the ship does not stop moving. For menu items that also have global hotkeys (e.g. stop), the hotkeys do work so it's the menu and not the command that's failing. The special unload menu works. Then I noticed that the game had been updated to 7.055 and the beta button is gone. Maybe the new version is the problem. (I had not been using the beta previously.) It seems impossible to revert to the previous version using Steam. Since some things can only be done with context menus, the game seems broken now. Please fix this! I also tried starting a new campaign and they didn't work there either. |

I found a workaround: in the menus there are hotkeys associated with most menu items, and pressing the key successfully activates the menu item. (E.g. if the menu item says "Do Something (P)", then pressing 'P' works but clicking the menu item does not.) With the workaround, playing is possible again, so I'm downgrading the severity from blocker to major. That said, not all menu items have hotkeys so some things (e.g. scout auto-picket) still can't be done. |

Eep. Thanks for letting us know. I've let Chris know, as he was doing some fiddling to try to get the textboxes to work better in the new unity version. |

That version is now out, by the way. Restart steam to get it immediately if you like. |
