Summary | 0015781: CSG-As Also Spawn on Non-ARS systems
Description | As I understand it, the Core Shield Generators were introduced to 1) force players to capture a minimal number of systems, rather than attack the AI homeworld at 10 AIP, and 2) to ensure that new players trying to win actually got a fleet strong enough to do so (due to the ARS on each CSG-A world). Consideration 1) is still valid, but consideration 2) is shaky - there are so many alternatives to improving one's fleet than just capturing each ARS (e.g. capturing Golems, Core Turret Controllers, Core Fabricators, Spire Archives, hacking, ...) that the continued focus on the ARS is somewhat weird. Besides, didn't the ARS originally unlock ships of Mk I-II? Now it only unlocks Mk I. Suggestion: Seed more than 5 CSG-A (e.g. 8) in the galaxy. In addition to ARS planets, they can also spawn on other highly desirable planets, e.g. those with golems or multiple fabricators or something. To take down the entire CSG-A network, one must still only destroy any four of them.
