Summary | 0015839: Dual Monitor setup leads to only one monitor being used and weird offset of cursor to actual position at second start
Description | I am playing AI War:Fleet Command on Ubuntu 14.04 (Gnome 3) via Steam (Build ID 384197 opted Into Beta 8.003) and have a dual monitor setting. This xrandr command represents the configuration concerning the main Desktop. xrandr --output DVI-I-2 --mode 1920x1080 --primary --output HDMI-0 --mode 1920x1080 --right-of DVI-I-2 1. I installed AI War via Steam and played it once. 2. Closed it normally via the game interface 3. shut down the computer 4. started AI War a second time (after starting the computer again) The load monitor starts displaying the loading message in the middle of my screen but after reaching 4 moves it to the right border of the screen. The loading finishes without further incidents. The GUI is responsive but the displayed cursor does not represent the actual position assumed by the interface which can be tested moving the cursor over the different buttons which light up as soon as the actual cursor position passes them. Pointing on 'Settings' will light up the button right to it. You can actually get into the settings (which will be displayed half outside of right border) and at graphics the set window size fields contain the numbers 3840 and 1080. It is possible to change them but any apply/save button is not displayed. Turning one display off will not fix the issue (after it occurred).

Yep, this is something global for unity 3D games, at least on the version we use, from what we can tell. The solution is generally to run the game in windowed mode, but just at a fullscreen size, and the problem is solved. Hope that helps! |
