DescriptionSome murders at a heliport got me thinking. Militaries generally do their own policing, because (among other reasons) bobbies with truncheons aren't very intimidating to marines with heavy machine guns.

It would be interesting if military buildings had range 0 crime reduction (only affecting their own tile, basically) but increased crime in surrounding areas. That would allow purely military outposts to survive without police stations, but anyone who lives near one should invest in bulletproof windows or extra riot police.

I think it's a really cool idea, but it's something that I think will unduly penalize new players. You basically would just need (under the new placement rules, which didn't exist when you wrote this of course) to build your military buildings slightly away from your other buildings to completely negate this. But if you didn't know that, you'd wind up with a frustrating crime penalty.

Agreed. Also, it would require annoying buffers around military infrastructure as your city expands past it.
