Summary | 0016718: International Incident Transparency
Description | Part of this is because International Incidents are new and I don't understand how the process works. The warning announcement is nice, but it needs to list you as an active participant if you are involved. In my first encounter with the system, the tooltip says that the Thoraxians were assassinating the Neinzul, which I didn't really care about. Then everyone shows up at my city. The report helps with the information problem, but needs to have a clickable on the main gui that goes directly to it. I'm not used to using the report menu. Also the formatting needs some work. In the screenshot there is a comma preceding one list of participants, which may be someone's name isn't appearing? It would be nice to have some indication about who is going to be shooting you in international incidents. Having to scroll around the city to find the hostile saucers is too prone to error. Plus, the risk of missing one is pretty high. Perhaps a symbol like those on the monsters on hostile UFOs?

Yep, I was having some of the same feelings. A lot of it comes from incompleteness of the feature, but having your precise thoughts on it is always a good thing because you thought of some things I had not. More to come, but for now: * Up at the top of the screen, when there are incidents that you are involved in, it now shows that as well, not just ones that are brewing -- previously it ignored ones that were in progress. ** Now when you hover over that, it also shows you all the incidents that you are aware of. And any that involve you show your race's name highlighted in your race color, making it really clear that you're in it. |
|
* When a flying saucer is hostile to you, it now has a flashing red border around it, making it clear that it is a threat, unlike before. We may adjust the visual for this down the line, but it's at least clear for now. |

Okay, incident transparency will certainly need more work, but for now I'm marking this specific topic as closed because I think I got everything in here. Another fresh topic about the newer version would be a cleaner way to discuss this if there's more after the next version. Thanks! * The bottom plate of the game now directly has buttons that open the city management and the incidents subscreens, and those are no longer in the reports submenu. ** When incidents are not present at all, the incident icon shows up as very grayed out. When there are incidents but not ones that involve you, it's yellow. When there are incidents involving you, it's red. |
