Summary0016765: Rogue Activity is taking its time
DescriptionChanging turns can take well over a minute on my low-spec machine. (2 GB of memory, graphics set to low.) Most of the turn-change notifications whiz by, but "Rogue Activity" can stay at 0% for a good long while. Save attached.

What's more, clicking on the yellow gears icon at the bottom middle of the screen doesn't work. But hitting the escape key does, so that's okay.

While my turns are rather quicker than Kizor's, I've noticed that usually the longest time spent in any race's progress indicator is the 54% SomethingMilitaryStuff.

For me, testing out this particular savegame I get a 13-14 second interturn time, so there's something up in this particular save (in terms of the confluence of events going on and that taking a lot of calculating) versus it being more generalized to just your machine.

Granted I'd like for it to be way way faster for you in general, and hopefully we'll get there even for your machine. But definitely keep handing us savegames that are particularly egregious for you -- well, after we fix one, if there are others that are still really slow, then hand us those and please do note what seems to be the problem in terms of where it is slowest if you have an idea. If not that's fine also.

For now, this is definitely on our shoot-to-kill list bug-wise. :)

For 0.823:

* Changed the saucer movement logic to a simpler form of pathing ("move in the general direction of the target") that takes way less CPU time. Previously in a heavy-saucer case it could take over 10 seconds per turn.

Nice, I see 3-5 second times between turns on that savegame now. :)
