Summary0016810: Crime death spiral
DescriptionMy city is stuck. I have placed a ton of police and birthing stations, but crime keeps killing my whole city.
* I didn't get enough warning or indication that this was happening until it was too late. I see icons for infection and disease on the right-hand side of my screen, but I don't see any crime caper icons.

I have been following along the forum conversations for some time, and the death spiral issue has been around. If you intend for this to mean, "you lose", okay the game should be over. But if you want for this to continue, you might want to think about all of these different variables by using economic parallels. For example, what happens when you get into debt in real-life, where your interest is greater than your income? what are your options?

We can do the same thing here:
implement edicts (akin to bankruptcy, with penalties such as losing constructed buildings, diplomatic penalties, Income penalties, etc.) that would allow you to basically put a population growth *floor* For some amount of turns. This floor would give the player a chance to get rid of some buildings, change where the population should be focusing on, etc.

I started another game and tried again. The same thing happened. I'm noticing that my police stations can only handle -11 crime per tile while my holo resorts are producing over 100 crime all by themselves. That looks like a big part of the problem.

Is this maybe a problem with the new crime-based-on-building-count logic?
