Summary0016867: Out of memory, oops.
DescriptionSo, I was generating several large size (otherwise default settings) maps to see the different map types (and zooming out while it generates, since I found out you could), and after 3 or 4 returns to the menu to see a different map, Out of memory exceptions! And then a black screen but no crash. Could open the menu and quit just fine.

This change is in 0.854:

* Fixed a rather sizeable texture memory leak relating to the minimap -- this does help explain a number of the out of memory errors that were specifically centered around that part of the game.

I'd be very interested to know if you can duplicate this error in the new version, if you don't mind checking once that's out. Starting a bunch of new worlds, particularly if your minimap scale is large, could definitely cause this.

Hoo boy this was definitely an issue. Fixed!

* Fixed some runaway RAM usage that has been happening for the last few versions during mapgen, in some cases leading to crashes previously. You also won't see the map generating anymore, although you still get the text. So the world is more of a mystery now, like it's supposed to be (that was just a developer testing tool).
