Description | Right now the first extractor is very low in the tech tree, I think tier 2, and reasonably priced. The first building that can USE anything you get from that extractor that I've found is the Guildhall. That's kind of odd just because the tech you get it from doesn't seem like it should let you suddenly know how to boost crops using butterflies. The bigger issue is that you don't get the Guildhall until REALLY deep in the tree. If extractors are going to be available really early, you should be able to use at least some of those resources pretty early as well. Otherwise building those extractors is a trap; they just dump pollution. I think it's fine if there is a subset of resources that are both a bit weaker than the others, but are also available way sooner. Collecting some butterflies or epiphytic plants and releasing them on your farms doesn't seem all that complicated, and maybe doesn't need to be either very strong or very hard to accomplish. I would grant the first resource utilization building at the same time as the first extractor (the terrarium dome). | ||||

Thanks! ** Product Development is now a direct descendent of retail training, and is available from social level 1 onwards (instead of 3) and for a quite low (comparably) science cost. *** Dense computing retains its science cost but drops to a social level requirement of 2 instead of 3. ** Industrial Chemical Processors are now unlocked at the same time as the harvester and extractor. |
