There is the exploration camp option in the buildings menu(it might not be super clear that they are the same thing) and you can hold shift to keep placing camps. Also Enter does whatever the end turn button would do.
The camps on end turn thing is there just to make sure that you place them since not having them would slow down your tech progression a great deal. But still I'm not a huge fan of the way it forces you to place more than 1 camp at a time since it makes it harder to make sure you place as many as possible if that's what you want to do.

If you mean make it harder then because afaik you can place the camps a little further than the lander can see so not being able to wait a turn to reveal the area before placing another is slightly annoying. |

A variety of things have combined to resolve this, I think. Culminating in:
* The requirement to place explorer camps on your first turn has now completely gone away. Now that you have a freer reign to build more stuff on turn one -- all the bare essentials -- it now makes you build a single building -- and gives you a snarky helpful tip on how to do that if you click the button -- prior to letting you move on to the next turn. |
