Summary | 0017109: Max population and growth
Description | As it is set now, the population growth is not tied to a natural trend, but more in a puzzle way: to get pop I need houses and meals, and for meals I need edible matter and water. Then if your population reach the limit, it will just stop growing. But then what if the population would always steadily increase? It would provide another challenge, I think, until you can research the Genetic building where you can tweak the % of population growth. Population pressure could also be a way for aggressive species to time their attacks: when their population gets to the limit, or over the sustainable number of the city, then they will demand to go to war to expand (and to lessen their numbers as well). What do you think? :)

Well, you're living in a strictly controlled environment where citizens are grown and immediately aged to adulthood, rather than born. Why would you intentionally do more than you could sustain? |
|
Oh ok, didn't know that. It makes sense, of course. I thought that such technology would be researched further down the tech tree, in the same way as the molecular security practically solve the crime problems. |

Ah, I gotcha -- yeah, when more of the lore stuff is in there (outside of the Tales of Woe videos) that will be helpful for stuff like this. And yep, population growth is one of those things that doens't really have a Final Solution in this game, heh. ;) |
